Obituary

David Lee Egbert of Belleville passed away peacefully at home on July 11, 2023 after a battle with cancer. Born in Akron OH to Mildred and Gordon Egbert, Dave, his brother Everett, and the family moved around quite a bit throughout Ohio during the boys’ school years. Dave met his wife Lois at her sister’s wedding in Nicktown PA. The two started a long distance relationship where Dave would roar into town on weekends in his beloved red GTO–blowing through the town’s only stop sign each time. The two were married in April of 1965. Within a few years, the couple welcomed their two children, Darlene and Scott. In addition to being a husband, father and proud grandfather, Dave was an avid fisherman. He insisted that his children learn to fish with him at an early age. Family vacations were either spent camping or fishing. His children will forever remember having to catch their breakfast pancakes as he flung them across the kitchen of a rental cabin. Dave was preceded in death by his mother (Mildred Geisinger Egbert), father (Gordon Egbert) and brother (Everett Egbert). He is survived by his wife of 58 years (Lois Egbert), his two children (Darlene Egbert-Oliver and Scott Egbert) and their families. Per his request, there will not be a funeral. In lieu of flowers or food, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Maybury Farm.
